In September, we conducted our 10th US Leaf Training & Study Mission Seminar in Raleigh, NC (September 4-14). The 2018 class consisted of 15 international customers from 6 countries and 2 US leaf supplier trainees. The international participants were from Bulgaria, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. The two-week program agenda covered all major aspects of the US tobacco industry from field to finished product.
Demand for this type of hands-on, in-depth leaf training and industry study continues to exceed our expectations. Considering that each company must pay the international transportation costs of its participants, it is clear that companies still see value in the need to train their employees on the quality and grade characteristics of US flue-cured. To date, 160 international industry officials have benefited from our US Leaf Training & Study Mission program.
