Leaf Standards Courses
We offer an opportunity to SEE, TOUCH and SMELL a variety of US flue-cured tobacco whole-leaf sample grades. We provide training on how the combination of stalk position, elements of quality, and color determine the tobacco grade based on the world-recognized USDA official grade standards. We demonstrate specific grade attributes found ONLY in US flue-cured and which grades/styles are most suitable for blend requirements. These standards, when applied to other flue-cured tobaccos worldwide, clearly affirm why US tobacco is considered the “quality choice”.
